My AC stopped working and Lex Brodies said they could fix it. They quoted me around $3250 to replace the AC. I thought it's kind of high but they were near my work and I wanted it to be fixed. I also know they employ probationers and I really wanted to support their business. I paid the amount and they replaced the AC. Less than a year later the AC is broken again same issue. I call and schedule an appointment and make sure it's under warranty, they said yes and schedule me an appointment at 830am the next day to look at it. Sounds good. I drop it off before work at 730. I get a call at 3:35 pm from them and they are telling me they only now got to my car and my air cabin filter is the problem and it needs to be replaced and they can do it for 67$. I didn't think that the air cabin filter would cause the AC to not run but whatever I'll play along. I said ok if that's what they think then change it and see if that fixes it. I get off work and go down to their shop at 430, as I need a way to get home. They tell me they are waiting for the part and it should be done soon, so I wait. To me this seemed kind of shady like they were stalling for time. They have me waiting for 1.5 hours and it's now past 6 and at this point I just want to go home. The guy told me hes so sorry the part never came and they will just install if for free when it arrives. They said they would call me when it gets in. I get my car back and start driving home. Miraculously the AC works again but has a chemical smell now... it's been over a month and No one ever called me back. I picked up a cabin air filter from Amazon and changed it myself, took ten minutes. The air filter I took out did not seem very dirty. There was no "gunk" on the filter clogging my AC like they were saying. I'm having serious doubts about the work they initially did to "replace" my AC. Did they do a temporary fix or do it wrong or use an old part and charge me the full price? I don't know but I would be cautious going here again. There was also another incident where I had a flat tire and took it there to see if they could do a patch. They said they couldn't and I would need to replace all 4 tires, they would not do only 2. Over 1000 for all 4 tires. I inquired about price matching and they said yes they will price match but for only the specific tire they have. Ok cool, I called around and searched Firestone Hawaii and Goodyear Hawaii and got prices for the specific tire they had for my car. I called and told them I printed out prices from Firestone Honolulu and it's for a lower amount. They were a little rude and said that's too low for them, I guess they don't price match? Whatever, I'm willing to pay more to support a local business. I told them the car is already there, I would like them to fix the tires and I asked what's the best price they can give me? The guy rudely stated same price as before, over 1000.... I said thanks but no thanks. I picked up my car went to Costco, got more expensive tires ($1200 at lex) and saved 500$. I want to support a local business but this place is shady and seems to only care about money. I am cautious of going back here again to get work done and beware of the "price match."
