Aiea, HI ("Pearlridge")
Three weeks ago, we had the opportunity (or should I say mandatory option Lol) to visit LexBrodie's in Aiea. As we were barreling down the freeway, we hit a pothole (one of Hawaii's THOUSANDS..honestly, I think Hawaii's city employees are in conspiracy with the tire companies...blow tire? More business Lol.) and blew out a tire. Luckily, we have Triple A so they came, put our donut tire on and we were able to drive the last few miles to LexBrodie's. First of all, I want to say the customer service is 5 stars!! This place has the nicest and most accommodating staff I have ever met. Everyone we dealt with could not have been nicer; they treat you like ohana (family..for those of you not familiar with Hawaii's vernacular) here. After the guy looked at our blown tire, he informed us that we needed not one, but THREE new tires. Our other tire had a screw in it and the tread was almost off the third tire. We weren't happy and asked how much this was going to cost us. We went inside and he gave us an estimate of $530 for all three tires + labor. As expensive as it was, we agreed to it. We are from the mainland and anyone from the mainland who comes here knows that Hawaii charges EXCESSIVE prices for everything and tires are no exception. This cost was for the cheapest tires they had. Back in Arizona where we're from, you can buy four new tires for around $300 and that includes installation. We told them to go ahead and put the tires on. One of the employees showed us over to a sitting area they have so customers can sit down while they wait. There's a television set, a few magazines etc...it's decent. My only complaint is that while I was sitting there, an employee came over and asked my husband to come and look at something on our tires so my hubby walked away. I was sitting there minding my own business when I heard someone on their cell phone talking LOUDLY and every other word was F this and F that. I turned around to see who it was and saw the ugliest transvestite I have ever seen in my life. It was so obviously a man trying, unsuccessfully, to be a woman. He/she had on more makeup than a hooker, high heels and a mini skirt. I guess this person caught me looking and said "What b***h?" I just looked away..I'm not trying to get into a fight with a 6'2" 225lb sexually confused person ok? I got up and walked away..trying not to laugh. So anyways, back to my review. The tire job took about 3 and a half hours which was crazy but we were very happy with the results and very happy that they were able to accommodate us during this emergency. We would definitely go back for our tire needs.
