Aiea, HI ("Pearlridge")
A little background: my very first experience with Lex Brodie's was awesome--it was at the Honolulu location on Queen street. I gave them 5 stars. A few months later, I went back expecting the same level of awesomeness and they let me down so bad that I had to update that review and give them just one star. Yah, it was that bad. The president of Lex Brodie's got in touch with me and basically took responsibility for the lack of service I received. I started to regain hope. He offered another oil change on the house, but since I ended up going to Jiffy Lube instead (see my review for the Honolulu location), I did not need a new oil change until now. I brought the car in on 1 Sept, Labor Day to the Aiea location because we are currently staying in Ewa Beach as we prepare to move to Washington. I wanted to get a good oil change and make sure my tires did not have slow leaks or anything like that before I put it on the boat to WA. I figured I'd use my free mini super check-up certificate. I'm happy to say everything went swell: They kept my appointment: check They were very friendly: check They said it would take about an hour, and it did: check The car ran smoothly afterwards: check I am actually giving them 4.5 stars, not 4--but not 5 either. The only reason, and this is more of a suggestion, is that when they were done, they mentioned that my water pump for my windshield wipers was most likely broken, which I knew, but I appreciate them bringing it up. They also said that my brake pads were running a little thin and that I should consider getting new pads in the near future, which I also appreciated. What I would have really appreciated, as a customer, is if they could have given me quote on how much *they* would have charged to repair/replace/fix those two issues. For example: "This is not an up sell, and there's no pressure for you to go with us, but since we're telling you what's wrong with your vehicle, this is how much we would charge to fix it, and this is how long it would take. Just something to think about since it's not urgent." That way I could begin to start thinking about how much I would need to save to get new brake pads or a new windshield wiper pump, or if it was reasonable, I would have tried to get it done right then and there. More importantly, I'd have a baseline for price-checking with other auto shops. Aside from my suggestion, everything was awesome, and I would highly recommend trying Lex Brodie's in Aiea. Oh, and another plus is that you can walk across the street and have a piece of pie from Anna Millers while you wait for your car!!!
