Visited Queen St location on 5/6/16... I've been a Lex Brodie customer for decades... At Waipahu, Pearl Ridge, Kalihi and of course Queen St branches. Many people tell me it's cheaper to go to Costco or Sam's Club, and I have memberships at both so why do I always choose Lex Brodie's? The short answer is SERVICE. Got a flat? Hit a pothole and need to check alignment? Time to rotate your tires? Just come in, you're a customer. And that STILL means a lot to the folks at Lex Brodie's. As far as the pricing, Lex Brodie's has come to within just a few dollars of Costco's prices every time for my cars. And I don't have to special order tires for my wife's Murano with Lex. Sam's usually doesn't have my size. The service you get at the other guys is "tires on your car", valve stems, mounting, disposal, all extra...so where'd the savings go? With all the specials at Lex Brodie's, along with the incidental charges already included in the price, I come out on top every time. And Costco doesn't do alignment last time I checked. No criticism, that's just not their thing. I've read some of the other reviews on Yelp, and several complaints are directly addressed by Scott Williams, the Executive Director, who offers to make things right at the companies expense! You just don't see much of that any more. A company that values it's customers. Because customers mean business. My experience this time was excellent as always. I made a phone appointment the day before. (DO IT ONLINE for an additional discount), When I showed up at 1pm, they were busy! Yet, at least three people stopped to ask me if I needed help, even though they were already helping other people. They don't just ignore you. Salesguy Kevin Proctor walked over and just said "I'll take care of you, sir!" and got me all squared away. My appointment was for 1:30. By that time, I was sitting in the air conditioned waiting room, while they were putting my Xterra up on the rack for the set of Michelins I wanted. (At the price I was quoted, which was only a little more (maybe $20) than Costco for the set. So worth it. The shop seems chaotic at first, but watching closely, the crew has some real team chemistry going on. Customers come in and they are taken care of. You don't have to try and get their attention. They notice you. The workers are all hustling, and they all seem happy. You can sense a feeling of pride at doing an excellent job. Too many businesses DON'T have that vibe going on, and I can sense it. The business is doing something right with its customers AND it's crew. Way to go. I have to mention the waiting room is cool and large, the chairs are comfortable, there table space if you want to have a snack or get a little work don'e... WiFi is free, and employees came in to make sure the coffee area was clean and in order several times. Someone even put the Cleveland vs San Antonio NBA game on the big screen. Not bad at all! Kevin kept me updated on the progress with my car, and Scott Williams even stopped by to chat for a while. Our families are friends from a while back, and it was good to catch up with him. He's a great guy all around, and I'm sure he's a big part of why Lex Brodie's is so successful. Lex is really expanding their marketing edge and it shows with all the coupons, promos and the Customer Rewards program, it's like Starbuck's for your car! Total time there just a little over two hours. That's four tires, mounted, balanced and aligned. And my Safety Check. The alignment check is free of course, Kevin showed me the printout and explained that I needed a small adjustment. The service was $90, with a 6 month guarantee. And I got discounts on all of it! Lex Brodie's is an excellent example of a how to run a local business successfully. I like being treated like I matter as a customer, and getting a good value. The fact that Lex Brodie's is a local company just makes it a little more satisfying. Make your appointment online, and check out all the specials they have!
