Brought my car in to fix an oil leak. Lex Brodie's indicated that the distributor and VTEC solenoid valve needed replacement. The distributor was replaced, and there was no noticeable change in the amount of oil discharged under the car. I've since learned that any oil leakage from the distributor would have been extremely small. Due to the age and mileage on the car (14 yrs, 125,000 miles), had I been made aware of this, would have opted to leave the old distributor in place. Distributor replacement was $600. Another shop fixed the major oil leak with $40 of parts (no VTEC solenoid valve) + labor and saved me money. The staff are very friendly and customer service oriented. And the shop is open 7 days a week. However, I may limit my future visits to oil changes and other common car maintenance activities.
