Recently brought my car in as the ac stop blowing cold air and wanted them to check the system , customer service was excellent but it appears that they did not do a system check and just filled it with some Freon. 8 days later no cold air and air flow was reduced. I would have thought they would have better diagnosed the ac system components. I wonder if they can only offer recharging the ac services? I had to take my car to another ac shop. The first question that the other shop asked was “Didn’t they do a system check?” I replied “ It does not appear so. If they did not find the issue the first time, taking it back would be risky to only get the same evaluation. I still like Lex Brodie a lot and will use them for other services.
New reply to new review: Aloha Mr. Masuda, thank you for sharing your feedback. We reviewed your invoice and see these notes: " RECOVERED .32lbs CHARGE SPEC 1.91lbs. ADDED DYE NO SIGNS OF LEAKS YET BRING BACK IF BLOWS WARM. AC CONTROLS TAKE ABOUT 30-45 SECONDS TO COME ON AFTER STARTING VEHCICLE, ELECTRIC CONTROLS SO WOULD REFER TO DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE< Date: 03/09/2024 12:19 PM" We also see the appointment notes included: "A/C System Check (Drop Off Service) [Recently changed the AC compressor, a few months later it does not blow cold air. Hopefully it is something other than the compressor. It only blows hot air. Also the AC no longer turns on automatically when starting the car, it has to be manually turned on and temp adjusted from 75 f.] 2000 Lexus RX300" After our team fills the system, they use a freon test tool to look for any clear leaks. When no clear leaks were found, we add a dye to the system that will help find the location of the freon leak (when the freon leaks out again). This way techs can be sure they are replacing the component that is currently leaking. In some cases, once the freon level it returned to its proper level, the increased internal pressure can cause a very small leak to become a much larger leak. This can happen anywhere from immediately (which it didn't) where we would recommend the repair for the failing part at that time, to a few weeks to over a year. When the compressor was changed, that would increase the internal AC system pressures which is likely what cause the freon to leak out before you brought the vehicle to us (the freon was likely already a bit low when the compressor was replaced). Then once we refilled the system to the proper AC level WITH the new compressor (you had installed previously), this is what likely resulted in the small leak becoming the larger leak in the short period of time. Please note: Your vehicle came in with .32 lbs. of freon and was sent out with 1.91 lbs. freon. Our techs tested the vehicle after it was refilled and there was no clear detectable leak at that time. (Please note: the shop you took the vehicle tool would have been able to find the leak easily due to the dye that we added). Please share the AC repair invoice and we can review to see if there is documentation to what they found. Did that shop the shop that installed the new AC compressor? Please email the follow up repair invoice to [email protected] and we can review for you. Thank you very much for your time to share this additional information.
