Kaneohe, HI
My workplace is near the Queen St Lex Brodies, so Ive gotten tires, oil changes, and some minor repairs done there, as its convenient to drop off in the morning & pick up after work. Ive also gone to the Kalihi branch which is near family for backup rides. Service (nice crew) & reliability (jobs done within the day when they say it will be) have been consistently good at both branches. That said, the Kāneohe branch of Lex Bs is definitely the standout! I started going to the Kāneohe branch when both town branches were too booked to take appointments (nice that the shop is open Sat & Sun also), and they are now my go-to branch! They are a smaller shop, but since they tend to be less crowded and booked, things get done more quickly, and twice now, theyve not charged me when I expected them to. Once, I took my car in for a minor repair, and I left the car in the shop til the end of day. On my way out, one of the back brake lights stopped working as I was backing out. Despite it being past closing time and totally unrelated to the repair Id paid for, the young mechanic cheerfully took the car back to replace a burnt out bulb, didnt charge me for the part, and refused to let me tip him. Just beamed a warm smile, obviously took pride in being able to fix it on the spot and help me out! Most recently, the Queen street branch said to run a diagnostic, Id need to keep the car at the shop overnight, so I decided to try Kāneohe to see if they might be able to service the car a little faster. Sure enough, they were able to test it within the day. Im sure they spent well over an hour checking my car (they had to drive it a while to see what was wrong), then took off all the wheels to check the brakes, and despite telling me initially that itd cost $150+ just to test out the car, once they determined it was a transmission issue which required specialists elsewhere, they charged me: -ZERO-! Though disappointed that the car wasnt repaired, I was totally surprised & grateful for their service, honesty that I needed to take my business elsewhere, and waiving of costs! Genuinely nice guys who waste no time and will win your long term loyalty and trust. Worth driving over to from town, even if town branches may be closer, if your car can make it over... A part of me would like to keep this branch a quiet secret for non-townies only, but also hope they thrive & stay open a long time! Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo!!!
