My son brought the Corolla in for a flat repair. He was called at work and informed that the shifter unit needed to be repaired. He declined the repair as he had the needed part to do the work himself. When I came by later to pick up the car for him (after the flat repair was completed), I discovered that the shifter unit section had been taken apart and left in that condition (screws removed and put in the cup holder, shift guide removed), resulting in me taking a while to figure out for myself how to shift and get the car moving. You could have at least put things back together again in the original state that the car was brought in.
