Aiea, HI ("Pearlridge")
Visited a larger well-known chain for an unrelated service and was told that my serpentine belt was producing a squeaking noise and needed to be replaced. I decided to go to Lex Brodie’s to have it checked out since I’d been there before and was satisfied with their pricing and services. Made an appointment over the phone to drop my car off later that week to get it checked out. 9AM I drop off my car. I received a text the same day saying pickup will be from 12PM-Close. I make sure to confirm this with the girl at the front desk and she mentions that minimum pickup time is 4 hours. No problem. I wasted time in the area and headed back a little before 4 hours without any communication or estimated quote on their end. Sat in the waiting room for another hour or so before finally going to the front to ask what was going on. They claimed they tried to call me around noon but the phone didn’t ring. I made sure my ringer was on before I left the shop at 9AM and have absolutely no record of them reaching out in my call history. My car had not been worked on in the 5.5 hours I waited because they didnt know to press an extra button when dialing my number (at least that’s what the man at the front said). I probably should’ve checked in sooner, but I’m not usually the type to be confrontational about wait time. Regardless, I shared that I was upset with the lack of communication and wait time, as I would’ve just walked the half hour home in the first place had I known it was going to take five hours for them to get started. The man at the front apologized but did not seem very sympathetic and claimed that this was a whole-day service to begin with (not what I was initially told). When I picked it up later that day, the girl that originally checked me in gave me my keys back and was very apologetic about the phone situation, which I appreciated. By then I just wanted to get my car out of there, and unfortunately I probably won’t be back.
