Lex Brodie's History
In 1958, Lex Brodie moved from managing the Dole Pineapple Cannery to owning a Chevron gas station in Kaneohe. Lex became known for his legendary customer service. With this tradition in mind, he opened the Lex Brodie's Tire Compay in 1961 and opened the store on Queen Street in 1964. As his store grew in popularity, Lex expanded to Waipahu where he opened his second location in 1972.
In 1981, the Wall Street Journal featured Lex Brodie's in their Small Business section, citing Lex's outstanding customer service as the number one reason Lex had captured a large share of the gas and tire market in Hawaii.
In 1994, Lex Brodie's received the Holo I Mua Award from the Better Business Bureau, which recognizes outstanding local businesses. By 1998, a Bank of Hawaii survey reported Lex Brodie's Tire as having the best service in Hawaii.
In 2002, Lex Brodie's became the first company in Hawaii to be approved for AAA Approved Auto Repair Facility. AAA is known for having the toughest standards in the industry for customer service. Lex Brodie's has averaged a 99% satisfaction rate!
