We Salute You—
CPT. CHARLES NEUMANN

I am writing this letter to let you know how much fun I had participating in the Great Aloha Run and to say thanks to CPT Neumann my Company Commander for making it happen for me. In my life as an Apache it is our way to insure that we give thanks and recognize those who make a difference in our life.
He has done this for me. I was told on numerous occasions that I would not be able to run again, possibly ever.

I spoke with him and he gave me hope that we would find a way to make the Aloha Run happen and he would stand by me if needed, and carry me if he had to. During the run my wheelchair broke and I had no choice but to complete the run on foot. He stood by me offered his shoulder, carried my gear, and kept me motivated to complete this run. I can honestly say that if he, Major Tugas, and 1st Sergeant Burnett had not been there to support and constantly cheer me on I do not think I could have completed the run.

We did it in under 2 hours, I was so happy to pass all these loafers who were just lolly gaggin.  Again, Aheheya which is thank you in Apache. And as we say in Hawaii, mahalo nui loa!
